Would love to write about Dog Day Afternoon’s best screenplay win! A dense 141-page bullet train of a script, which still holds as politically daring and one of the best 24-hour films in American cinema. Not to mention Dog Day Afternoon and Network both winning best screenplay in consecutive years (perhaps credit to Sidney Lumet’s versatile directing as well?)
